IT Technician

Liberty Liquors is a leading liquor retailer and wholesaler in KwaZulu-Natal, operating multiple stores in Durban and Pietermaritzburg. As an IT Technician, you will be integral to maintaining the technology that supports these operations.

In this role, your primary responsibilities will include managing software rollouts and updates, particularly for retail systems like Arch. You will work closely with internal teams and external service providers to troubleshoot software issues and ensure compliance with IT standards. Additionally, you will oversee hardware installations, including POS systems and networking equipment, ensuring everything is configured correctly and functioning smoothly.

You will also be responsible for reporting and asset management, compiling necessary reports, and tracking IT project progress. Your role will involve monitoring stock levels of IT consumables and coordinating website maintenance to keep product information and promotions up to date. As the first point of contact for IT queries, you will assist staff with their technical issues and escalate more complex problems as needed.

This position is well-suited for someone with a diploma or degree in IT or Computer Science and at least three years of experience in an IT support role, preferably in a retail environment. Strong organizational skills and proficiency in Arch Retail Software are essential, along with a solid understanding of networking and system administration.
