Frequently asked questions
Quick answers to common questions about Get a Job in Tech — where the data comes from, how often it updates, and what we do with your details.
Where do the job listings come from?
- We scrape SA-focused job boards daily — PNet, Indeed SA, and OfferZen at launch. Every listing links back to its source so you can verify it and apply.
How often are listings updated?
- Daily at around 04:00 SAST. Each listing is rescraped and either refreshed or marked archived if it's no longer on the source board.
Why are some jobs marked 'archived' or stale?
- If a listing hasn't been seen on its source board for 45 days, we archive it. You can still access its URL (so old shared links keep working) but it disappears from the live listings.
Are these jobs real?
- Yes — every listing is taken directly from a published source posting. We don't manufacture listings, and we don't repost stale ones.
Why don't I see salaries on most listings?
- Because most SA employers don't publish them. Read our SA tech salaries guide for an honest breakdown of what the data does and doesn't tell us.
Why use AI to rewrite job descriptions?
- Original listings are often padded with corporate-speak that buries the actual role. We use AI to produce a plain-English summary alongside the original, so you can decide quickly whether to read further.
What's an 'entry-friendly' job?
- One where the listing explicitly accepts juniors, learnerships, or career-switchers — not the usual 'junior with 5 years of experience' fakery.
Do I need to sign up to apply?
- No. You can browse and apply without an account. We'll later offer a newsletter you can opt into, but that's it.
Will you ever spam me?
- No. If you join the newsletter, you'll get well-curated jobs and SA tech content — nothing else. Unsubscribe in one click.
How can I report a listing or suggest an improvement?
- Email hello@creategoodcontent.com — we read every message.
