Onsite Support & Installation Technician - Lesaka (Fintech)

Lesaka Technologies is expanding its Installation & Support team within the Merchant Division, specifically in the hospitality sector. The Installation & Support Technician will be responsible for installing and configuring Point of Sale (POS) systems at client locations in East London and Mthatha. This role involves not only technical installations but also training clients on how to use the systems effectively, ensuring they are confident before the handover process. The technician will also provide ongoing support and troubleshooting as needed.

Day-to-day responsibilities include executing POS and Back Office setups, managing go-lives, and delivering after-hours support as per the regional roster. The technician will work closely with the regional technical team, taking ownership of specific installation projects and ensuring all tasks meet quality and compliance standards. This position requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to work independently in various environments.

The ideal candidate will have a strong technical support background, with at least 3-5 years of experience in the IT field. An IT qualification, particularly A+ and N+, is highly recommended. Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal, are essential, as is a calm demeanor under pressure. The role is suited for someone who is customer-centric, technically confident, and willing to travel between locations.
