Position Overview The Gauteng Regional Health \& Safety Manager within the Galvanising and Infrastructure division is a critical position, responsible for divisional governance and assurance of Occupational Health \& Safety (OHS) compliance and performance across the division’s multiple separate legal employers (sub\-entities) within the Gauteng Region. The role is integral to operational efficiency, regulatory compliance and sustainability, and ensures that OHS requirements are interpreted, analysed, communicated, understood and implemented consistently across the division, in line with the division’s strategic direction. The role provides leadership and oversight to implement and enforce OHS plans according to legal guidelines and the Division’s strategic direction, prepares and enforces policies to establish a culture of health and safety, evaluates practices/procedures/facilities to assess risk and adherence to law, and ensures effective monitoring, auditing, and continual improvement of the OHS management system (ISO 45001:2018\). This is achieved through: * Monitoring and reporting on objectives and targets as appropriate * Internal auditing * Hazard identification and risk management * Driving health and safety\-related non\-conformances to closure * Pursuit of continual improvement * Control of externally provided services/products, including contractor and service provider governance * Governance of on\-site construction activities in furtherance of OHS * Consultation and participation of managerial and non\-managerial personnel/representatives * Providing information for management system performance review Key Areas of Responsibility * Determine divisional strategic direction and work priorities (in conjunction with the **Division SHEQ Manager**, **Divisional CEO**, and **sub\-entity executive/management teams**) for continual improvement of the **ISO 45001:2018** Health \& Safety Management System. * Direct the statutory compliance of all regional properties and buildings (e.g., ensuring adherence to National Building Regulations, structural integrity, and facilities compliance). Provide governance and assurance on physical infrastructure compliance, working in collaboration with the broader SHEQ division, which retains responsibility for the day\-to\-day operational safety controls within these shared domains. * Lead divisional OHS governance across multiple legal entities within the Region through a **matrix approach**, partnering with sub\-entity management to ensure statutory compliance, standardised controls and consistent reporting to the Division SHEQ Manager and Divisional CEO. * Seek and obtain certification against applicable international standards, or maintain existing certification statuses, aligned to the strategic direction of the Divisional CEO within the Region. * Advise the Divisional CEO and sub\-entity executive/management teams and support implementation of new/existing H\&S\-related legislation, rules and...
