**Job Purpose** We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced Animal Scientist / Veterinarian to provide technical expertise in animal production, livestock health, animal welfare, and agricultural development initiatives. The successful candidate will contribute to research, monitoring, advisory services, and the implementation of sustainable livestock production and animal health programmes. **Minimum Requirements** * Master’s Degree (NQF Level 9\) in Animal Science or Veterinary Science. * Minimum of five (5\) years’ relevant post\-qualification experience working as an Animal Scientist or Veterinarian. * Registration with the relevant professional body where applicable. * Valid driver's license and willingness to travel. * Strong analytical, technical report writing, and communication skills. **Key Responsibilities** * Provide specialist advice on livestock production, animal health, breeding, nutrition, and management systems. * Conduct assessments and evaluations of livestock production systems and animal health programmes. * Develop and implement strategies to improve animal productivity, health, and welfare. * Monitor livestock performance and provide recommendations for enhanced production efficiency. * Support research activities, data collection, analysis, and reporting related to animal science and veterinary services. * Conduct disease surveillance, risk assessments, and recommend appropriate mitigation measures. * Provide technical input into agricultural development projects, feasibility studies, and policy initiatives. * Facilitate training and capacity\-building programmes for farmers, agricultural practitioners, and stakeholders. * Prepare technical reports, presentations, and recommendations for clients and project teams. * Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure successful project delivery and compliance with industry standards. **Competencies** * Strong knowledge of animal production systems, livestock management, and animal health practices. * Excellent analytical and problem\-solving abilities. * Strong project planning and organisational skills. * Effective stakeholder engagement and communication skills. * Ability to work independently and within multidisciplinary teams. * Proficiency in Microsoft Office and relevant animal production or veterinary management systems. **Application Process** Interested candidates should submit: * A detailed Curriculum Vitae (CV) * Certified copies of qualifications * Professional registration certificate (where applicable) * Contactable references Only candidates who meet the minimum requirements will be considered.
