As a Lead DevOps Engineer at CloudSmiths, you will play a crucial role in shaping the cloud infrastructure for a variety of enterprise clients. Your primary responsibility will be to architect and manage high-availability systems on the Google Cloud Platform, ensuring that production environments are reliable, secure, and performant. You'll be at the forefront of implementing advanced automation and monitoring strategies, which are essential for maintaining system health and efficiency.
In this role, you will lead the design and deployment of secure GCP Landing Zones, which serve as the foundation for clients' cloud journeys. You will also standardize Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices across the organization, utilizing tools like Terraform and Ansible to facilitate secure and repeatable deployments. Your expertise in CI/CD pipelines will enable seamless code deployments, while your leadership will guide junior and intermediate engineers through complex challenges.
The ideal candidate will have over seven years of experience in DevOps or Cloud Engineering, with at least two years in a senior or lead role. You should possess deep knowledge of the Google Cloud Platform, Kubernetes, and container orchestration. Strong scripting skills and UNIX/Linux administration experience are also essential. A degree in IT or Computer Science, along with relevant Google Cloud certifications, will be advantageous.
