This role combines deep technical expertise, automation, security, and leadership, offering an exciting opportunity to make a significant impact across our client environments and internal operations. You'll act as the highest level of technical escalation within the SysOps team while helping to develop our engineers, improve operational efficiency, and drive innovation through automation and best practices. **What You'll Be DoingTechnical Leadership \& L3 Escalations** * Serve as the primary escalation point for complex technical issues beyond L1 and L2 capabilities. * Perform advanced troubleshooting, diagnostics, and root cause analysis across: * Microsoft 365 * Azure * Entra ID * Active Directory * Servers and Infrastructure * Networking (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP) * Security platforms and cloud environments * Lead major incident investigations and communicate effectively with clients and stakeholders. * Drive technical excellence and establish best\-practice standards across the team. Automation \& Continuous Improvement * Design and implement automation solutions using: * PowerShell * Python * Azure Automation * N\-able RMM * Create self\-healing systems and proactive monitoring capabilities. * Identify opportunities to streamline operations and reduce manual effort. * Enhance and optimise tools including: * N\-able * Microsoft Intune * Microsoft Defender * Acronis * Mimecast * Meraki * Qualys * BitDefender Security \& Compliance * Implement and maintain security controls aligned with Microsoft, CIS, and NIST best practices. * Support vulnerability management, patching, and incident response activities. * Work closely with our SOC team to strengthen client security postures. * Manage and optimise Microsoft Defender, Conditional Access, and endpoint protection solutions. Systems Administration \& Infrastructure Management * Manage complex hybrid cloud environments. * Ensure client systems remain secure, reliable, and highly available. * Conduct proactive maintenance, optimisation, and performance improvement initiatives. * Support infrastructure upgrades, migrations, and strategic technology projects.
