As a Junior Data Engineer at PPS Recruitment, you will play a crucial role in supporting the development and maintenance of data pipelines within the Group Analytics Data Ecosystem. Your primary focus will be on designing and optimizing data management processes using Microsoft Fabric. Working under the guidance of senior team members, you'll ensure strong data quality while contributing to analytics and reporting initiatives.
In your day-to-day work, you will assist in building, testing, and maintaining data ingestion and transformation pipelines. This includes supporting end-to-end ETL activities across various data sources. You will also conduct routine data quality checks, document data sources and transformation logic, and help maintain data governance standards. Writing clean and well-documented code in Python and SQL will be essential to meet team standards.
This role is ideal for someone who is eager to learn and grow in the field of data engineering. You should have a foundational understanding of data modeling and governance principles, along with basic knowledge of SQL and relational databases. Familiarity with data visualization tools like Power BI and exposure to cloud environments, particularly Azure, will be advantageous.
