**Job Purpose** We are seeking a qualified and experienced Plant Production Expert / Agronomist to provide technical expertise in crop production, agronomic practices, agricultural research, and sustainable farming systems. The successful candidate will support agricultural development initiatives through scientific analysis, field assessments, stakeholder engagement, and technical advisory services. **Minimum Requirements** * Master’s Degree (NQF Level 9\) in Agricultural Science with a major in Plant Production or Agronomy. * Minimum of five (5\) years’ post\-qualification experience working as an Agronomist or Plant Production Expert. * Registration with the South African Council for Natural Scientific Professions (SACNASP) as a Professional Natural Scientist. * Valid driver's license and willingness to travel when required. * Strong technical report writing and communication skills. **Key Responsibilities** * Provide expert agronomic and plant production advice to support agricultural projects and programmes. * Conduct field assessments, crop monitoring, and evaluations of production systems. * Develop and implement sustainable crop production strategies and best\-practice guidelines. * Analyse soil, climate, crop, and production data to improve agricultural productivity. * Provide technical input into agricultural research, feasibility studies, and project planning. * Prepare technical reports, presentations, and recommendations for stakeholders. * Monitor project implementation and ensure compliance with relevant agricultural standards and regulations. * Facilitate farmer training, capacity\-building programmes, and stakeholder engagement activities. * Support risk assessments and mitigation strategies related to crop production and agricultural development. * Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to achieve project objectives and deliverables. **Competencies** * Strong knowledge of crop production systems and agronomic principles. * Excellent analytical and problem\-solving skills. * Project management and planning abilities. * Strong interpersonal and stakeholder engagement skills. * Ability to work independently and within multidisciplinary teams. * Proficiency in Microsoft Office and agricultural data analysis tools. **Application Process** Interested candidates should submit: * A detailed Curriculum Vitae (CV) * Copies of qualifications * SACNASP registration certificate * Contactable references Only suitably qualified candidates who meet the minimum requirements will be considered.
