About the Role We are seeking a detail\-oriented IT Technician to provide essential technical support and maintenance for our organization’s IT infrastructure. You will focus on troubleshooting software and hardware issues, ensuring optimal system performance, and contributing to the overall reliability of our technology operations. As an integral part of our IT team, you will play a crucial role in maintaining a seamless technology experience for all users. Stilfontein\-based role requiring travel to support operational sites, including Potchefstroom, Centurion, Matlosana, Olifantsfontein, Rustenburg, Witbank and Steelpoort Key Responsibilities * Provide first\-level technical support for hardware and software issues, responding to user inquiries through various communication channels. * Perform troubleshooting, diagnosis, and resolution of IT problems and escalate issues as necessary. * Install, configure, and maintain computer hardware, peripherals, and software applications to meet operational needs. * Conduct regular system diagnostics to ensure optimal performance and identify areas for improvement. * Maintain accurate records of service requests, incidents, and problem resolutions in a ticketing system. * Assist in the implementation of IT projects and new technologies, including upgrades and deployments. * Ensure compliance with security protocols and best practices to protect data and systems. * Provide training and support to users on IT\-related processes and tools, promoting effective use of technology. Requirements * Demonstrable experience in IT support or a related technical role, with a solid understanding of computer systems and networks. * Proficiency in troubleshooting common issues related to operating systems (Windows, macOS, Linux) and various software applications. * Strong knowledge of hardware components, including desktops, laptops, printers, and networking devices. * Familiarity with basic networking concepts such as TCP/IP, DNS, and DHCP. * Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and deliver excellent customer service. * Strong problem\-solving skills with an analytical approach to resolving technical issues. Preferred Qualifications * Relevant IT certifications such as CompTIA A\+, Network\+, or Microsoft certifications. * Experience with cloud services (e.g., Microsoft Azure, AWS) and virtualization technologies. * Basic knowledge of scripting languages or automation tools to improve IT processes. * Previous experience in managing IT inventory and technology lifecycle management.
