Data Engineer III

Capitec Bank is seeking a mid-level Data Engineer to enhance its cloud-native data platforms. In this role, you will be responsible for designing and building scalable data pipelines that support the bank's mission to provide market-disrupting services to millions of clients. Your work will directly influence how data is utilized across the organization, making it a critical position for driving data-driven decision-making.

Your daily tasks will include developing high-performance data solutions using Python and SQL, with a focus on Redshift. You will collaborate closely with Data Architects to contribute to solution design and ensure that the data infrastructure is reliable, efficient, and scalable. Additionally, you will be involved in building and maintaining cloud-based data infrastructure, preferably on AWS.

This role is well-suited for someone with at least three years of experience in data engineering, particularly in designing and optimizing data lakes and warehouses. If you have a strong background in cloud technologies and a passion for creating robust data solutions, this position could be a great fit for you.

Key responsibilities include: • Designing and building scalable data pipelines and platforms (both batch and streaming) • Developing high-performance data solutions using Python and advanced SQL • Contributing to solution design alongside Data Architects • Building and maintaining cloud-based data infrastructure • Designing and optimizing data lake and data warehouse integration patterns
