IQbusiness is looking for a hands-on AI Engineer to join their Data & Analytics team in Johannesburg. In this role, you will design, build, and operationalise cloud-based AI solutions primarily using Microsoft Azure, AWS, and Google Cloud. Your work will mainly focus on the financial services sector, but you'll also have opportunities to engage with public sector, mining, and retail projects. This position reports to the AI Capability Lead and plays a crucial role in delivering enterprise AI solutions.
Your daily responsibilities will include developing production-grade Generative AI solutions, RAG agents, document intelligence, and machine learning applications. You'll also support pre-sales activities, conduct demos, and contribute to proof of concepts (PoCs). As part of your role, you will help shape the AI capability roadmap and mentor junior engineers, ensuring they grow and develop their skills in AI engineering.
This role is ideal for someone who has a strong background in AI and Generative AI engineering, along with solid data engineering and MLOps skills.
