IQbusiness is seeking a hands-on AI Engineer to join their Data & Analytics team in Johannesburg. This role involves designing, building, and operationalising AI solutions on major cloud platforms like Microsoft Azure, AWS, and Google Cloud. You will work closely with the AI Capability Lead and contribute to the delivery of enterprise AI projects, primarily in the financial services sector, but also across public sector, mining, and retail industries.
In your day-to-day work, you will be responsible for developing production-grade Generative AI solutions, RAG agents, document intelligence, and machine learning applications. You will also support pre-sales activities, create demos, and respond to RFPs, which means your role will have a significant impact on the company's AI capability roadmap. Mentoring junior engineers will also be part of your responsibilities, allowing you to share your expertise and help grow the team.
This position is ideal for someone with a solid foundation in AI engineering and data engineering, particularly with experience in MLOps.
