This role is based in Durbanville, Cape Town, and involves working with a full technology stack, including React for the frontend and Node.js for the backend. You will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining features that improve user experience and functionality.
In your day-to-day work, you will develop backend REST API endpoints using Node.js and Express. You will also ensure that the backend is secure by implementing best practices such as using Helmet for security headers and express-rate-limit for rate limiting. Your role will require you to take ownership of features from the specification stage all the way to production deployment, ensuring that everything runs smoothly and securely.
