Datafin is looking for a Junior-Mid AI Backend Engineer to join their Cape Town team. In this role, you will design, build, and maintain backend services and APIs that support machine learning model inference and training pipelines. You will also work on Agentic AI systems, contributing to the development of cutting-edge technology.
Your day-to-day responsibilities will include: • Developing and maintaining backend services that are efficient and scalable. • Collaborating with data scientists and other engineers to integrate machine learning models into applications. • Ensuring the reliability and performance of APIs that serve various AI functionalities.
This position is ideal for someone with 1-3 years of professional experience in backend development, particularly with Python. You should have a solid understanding of API design and backend architecture. Familiarity with machine learning concepts and cloud services will be beneficial but is not mandatory.
