As a Business Data Steward at the Government Employees Medical Scheme, you will be an integral part of the Research and Development Division, reporting directly to the Data Analytics team. Your primary responsibility will be to partner with business data owners to promote and implement data governance best practices, ensuring that data is treated as a valuable asset across the organization.
In this role, you will develop a deep understanding of the Scheme's data in alignment with the Data Management and Analytics Strategy. You will identify and document data requirements and specifications, working closely with the ICT team to ensure effective implementation. Additionally, you will establish and manage processes for addressing data issues and queries, adhering to established data quality standards and guidelines.
A key aspect of your role will be to ensure compliance with applicable policies and regulations, including the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA). This position is well-suited for individuals with at least three years of relevant experience in data management or governance, who are passionate about fostering a culture of data-centricity within an organization.
